Where Has the Time Gone?

To all the moms I silently criticized for not keeping their blog up to date, I now wholeheartedly apologize!

Where has the time gone? And who has time to update a blog when they are either 1. chasing a toddler around as they discover the world, or 2. laying in bed with said toddler fighting yet another illness?! Daycare germs...booo!!!!

It hasn't been all sickness though! We have had some fun since our last post!!!

One of our first trips this fall was to North Point Mall. They have a carousel and train that rides around the mall. Matty had a great time!

"Mmmm, Mama, these sunglasses are good!!"
We also went to a Pumpkin "patch" at the beginning of the month. Well, it was really more like a Pumpkin Farm. I was actually a tad disappointed. I thought it was going to be a little more like pumpkins in the field, like a "pick your own pumpkin" set up, not a barn that had pumpkins already arranged in it. I guess mine was a bit more of a Norman Rockwell version of a pumpkin patch, but we had fun nonetheless.

We had lots of fun during football season! Matt's vocabulary has taken off since starting daycare. He can say so many words, including "touchdown," which let's be honest... it's just ADORABLE!!

I'll update another post for the holidays hopefully this week... stay tuned for our first haircut, visit with Santa, Christmas 2014, and our first trip to Charleston to see Lynnie and Grandfather's new house!

Until then...

My Baby's Gone!

Yep, that's right. We no longer have a baby in the house. Matty is a full blown toddler, and he is running all over the place to prove it!

The past month has been...tiring, to say the least. Matty and the daycare germs have become fast friends, which has sent us to the doctor several times....upper respiratory infection, strep throat, allergic reaction to amoxicillin, and most recently a double ear infection. My poor guy. He seemed to be feeling a TON better this morning, so hopefully we can put these illnesses behind us. I know his immune system is building up, but Matt and I are getting sick too! I guess that happens when you're holding a sick child and they insist on sneezing and coughing directly in your face.

I've been working at Paulding County Schools for a little over a month, and I LOVE it! Everyone is so nice and welcoming. A little TOO excited that I'm here, if you ask me, but I guess they're happy to have someone back in the Communications role. I thought I would miss producing, but to be honest, not nearly as much as I thought I would. I know...it shocked me too! In all honesty, I've become fairly removed from what's going on. My focus is on my little family.

It's been about two months now (really?!), but we did a family picture session in Columbia with my side of the family at the end of June. Paula Williamson (of Paula Williamson Photography) and I used to work together WAAAAY back when at WIS. She took the pictures and did an AMAZING job. I seriously have had trouble picking my favorites!

Here's just a sample:

She did amazing pictures of my sister's family as well, but I don't want to put too many pictures of her kids up without her permission! This is the internet after all!

I guess I should get to the always "star of the blog" -- my Matty :-)

He is doing awesome! We still have some tears at dropoff in the mornings, and for some reason, he cries when he sees Matt at the end of the day. But his teachers say he is pretty happy in between those two times, although with his various illnesses, he's been understandably fussy.

Without further delay...some pictures from the past two months.

Matty loves his ball pit...

And he LOVES his spaghetti.

For some reason, he loves putting on adult sized hats, but won't wear ones of his own.

What a cutie!

"Hello? Justice League of America? You need me?"

Love this face!

Did I mention he's reading?? :-)

Well, he's not really reading...yet! But he's trying!!

This guy is a BIG ball of energy, can you tell?

And one more video, well...just because I can. It's a glimpse into our daily life:

That's just a little update from the world we know as "Wooley's World."

Until next time...
